David Martinez PerníaDavid is a physical therapist and psychologist, holding a Ph.D. in Philosophy with a specialization in the enactive approach. He serves as Director of the Empirical 5E Lab and the Center for Social and Cognitive Neuroscience (CSCN) at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Santiago, Chile. His research explores the lived, intercorporeal, and affective dynamics that constitute intersubjective life, investigating how bodily resonance, emotional attunement, and joint action co-create meaning. His experimental designs integrate neurobiological measures (EEG, EKG, GSR, force platforms) with the first-person exploration of embodied experience. David is committed to developing a neurophenomenological methodology deeply engaged with the study of human experience, while maintaining a natural scientific perspective. In this context, he works on the development of a Neurophenomenological Program, integrating AI-assisted data analysis and computational statistical modeling to bridge phenomenological descriptions and neurophysiological dynamics. His work focuses particularly on empathy and compassion across neurotypical populations, affective disorders, and neurodegenerative conditions, aiming to foster clinical, educational, and societal transformation.Know my Work
