Antonia Zepeda Vergara Antonia is a psychologist with Master's degrees in Clinical Psychology and Relational Mindfulness, currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Social Neuroscience and Cognition at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Santiago, Chile. Her research integrates social cognition, embodied emotion, contemplative sciences, and the enactive approach, with a primary focus on empathy for pain. Antonia employs neurophenomenological methods, combining micro-phenomenological analysis of subjective experiences with multimodal neurophysiological recordings (EEG, ECG, EDA, respiration, eye tracking, and posturography). Her work investigates how empathic experiences emerge as dynamic, embodied, and deeply relational processes, particularly in clinical populations such as individuals with Parkinson’s disease and spinal cord injuries. Antonia’s current projects aim to develop and evaluate enactive empathy interventions, contributing to clinical, educational, and societal transformations. Know my Work
